Description
Transform Your 3rd Gen 4Runner With Long Travel
The 3rd Gen 4Runner is an excellent platform for off-road builds, but increasing front suspension travel requires more than simply installing larger shocks. The control arms, steering, CV axles, brake lines, and suspension geometry all need to work together through the increased range of motion.
That’s why we developed our 1996–2002 Toyota 4Runner Long Travel Kit as a complete front suspension system.
The kit increases front track width 3.5″ per side and provides up to 14″ of fully functional wheel travel on 2WD 4Runners and 13″ on 4WD models.
Built Around Increased Travel and Tire Clearance
Our Version 2 boxed lower control arms position the lower ball joint 1″ farther forward, helping increase firewall clearance for larger tires. The high-clearance arm design also incorporates hydraulic bump-stop strike pads and dual lower shock mounts for customers adding a secondary shock.
Tubular upper control arms use FK 3/4″ heim pivots and 1″ uniballs, providing the articulation and alignment adjustment needed for a serious long-travel suspension system.
The kit is designed around 8″ stroke coilovers and includes upper coil bucket adapters, extended DOT stainless steel brake lines, and limit straps with weld-on frame tabs.
For 4WD 4Runners, the kit also includes the required extended complete front axle package.
For higher-level builds, combine the system with Solo Motorsports Fully Fabricated Spindles and our 1″ Lower Uniball & Heim Steering Conversion.
