A Must for Broncos Running an Interior Roll Cage
The factory Ford Bronco uses vulcanized rubber body mounts that allow movement between the body and frame. That isolation works well on a stock truck, but it becomes a problem when an interior roll cage is installed and tied into the Bronco’s body.
As the body moves on the factory rubber mounts, the roll cage and welded plate work can place additional stress on the factory sheet metal. Over time, that movement can contribute to cracks around the cage mounting plates and create unwanted movement and noise when driving over bumps or off-road.
That’s why we recommend solid body mounts on any 1980–1996 Ford Bronco running an interior roll cage.
Eliminate Movement Between the Body and Frame
Our Solid Body Mount Kit replaces the original rubber body mounts with CNC-machined 6061 aluminum mounts, eliminating the compression and movement of the factory rubber bushings.
Keeping the body securely positioned on the frame provides a more stable foundation for an interior roll cage and helps prevent the body from continually moving around the cage structure.
This is especially important when installing our Solo Motorsports WIY Bronco Roll Cage, where the cage and associated plate work become part of the Bronco’s structural system.
The complete kit includes 10 machined 6061 aluminum body mounts, 10 zinc-plated 1/4″ thick lower body washers, and 1/2″ Grade 8 mounting hardware.
If you’re building a Bronco with a properly installed interior roll cage, solid body mounts should be considered part of the cage installation—not an optional appearance upgrade.
