Description
Why Upgrade Your 1st Gen Tacoma Lower Control Arms?
The factory lower control arms work well for a stock truck, but larger tires and harder off-road use can expose their limitations. We designed our 1st Gen Tacoma Lower Control Arms for owners who want more strength, ground clearance, and tire clearance without increasing the factory track width.
Designed for the 1996–2004 Toyota Tacoma, these stock-length lower control arms move the lower ball joint forward 1 inch. This provides additional tire clearance while adding approximately 2–3 degrees of positive caster, helping improve alignment geometry on modified trucks.
Each control arm is built from 3/16-inch steel using CNC laser-cut and CNC-bent components. Interlocking internal ribs reinforce the fully boxed design before each assembly is MIG welded for strength and durability.
We also designed these LCAs around how Tacoma owners build and use their trucks. Factory bump-stop mounting threads are retained, while an integrated strike pad allows for the addition of hydraulic bump stops. Factory-location sway-bar tabs allow you to retain the original sway bar configuration.
These control arms are a great foundation for trucks running 33-inch tires. With additional clearance modifications, 35-inch tires can also be used.
Whether you’re building a daily driver, mid-travel setup, or capable off-road Tacoma, these LCAs provide increased strength and clearance while maintaining a stock-width suspension setup.
