Strengthen the Rear Frame of Your 1st Gen Tacoma
The 1st Gen Toyota Tacoma uses a hybrid frame design with a boxed front section and an open C-channel rear section. For trucks being built for harder off-road use and upgraded rear suspension, that open rear frame section can allow more chassis flex than a fully boxed structure.
That’s why we developed our 1995–2004 Toyota Tacoma Rear Frame Boxing Kit.
Instead of replacing or heavily modifying the factory frame, our weld-on plates close the open side of the rear C-channel to create a boxed structure. This increases rigidity through the rear section of the chassis and provides a stronger foundation for off-road and performance suspension builds.
Built for the 1st Gen Tacoma Frame
Each plate is laser cut from 1/8″ steel and shaped specifically around the Tacoma rear frame.
The plates feature dimple-died openings that add rigidity to the panels while keeping unnecessary weight down and giving the finished frame a clean fabricated appearance.
The complete kit includes four driver-side and four passenger-side plates, boxing the rear frame in multiple sections while working around the factory chassis structure.
This is an especially worthwhile upgrade when building a Tacoma with increased rear suspension travel, outboard shock mounts, hydraulic bump stops, or other modifications that place additional loads into the rear chassis.
For serious 1st Gen Tacoma suspension builds, strengthening the frame gives the suspension components a more rigid foundation to work from.

Installation
Welding is required.
