Hydraulic Rear Bump Stops for the 1st Gen Tacoma
The Solo Motorsports Rear Hydraulic Bump Stop Mount Kit is designed for 1996–2004 Toyota Tacoma owners who need better bottom-out control from the rear suspension. Whether you’re running trails, desert roads, or harder off-road terrain, hydraulic bump stops help absorb the final portion of suspension travel before the suspension reaches a harsh bottom-out.
Factory rubber bump stops work for normal driving, but they offer limited control during aggressive suspension compression. Therefore, we designed this kit to properly position aftermarket hydraulic bump stops over the rear axle while providing a strong and consistent strike surface.
The frame mounts are constructed from 3/16″ steel plate that is laser cut and CNC bent for a precise fit. Additionally, the bump stop location is raised approximately 1.5″ to properly position the hydraulic bump stop within the available suspension travel.
For the Tacoma application, the kit uses 3/8″ steel U-bolt strike plates that sit on top of the leaf springs. This creates a solid contact surface for the hydraulic bump stops while allowing the system to work with the Tacoma’s leaf-spring rear suspension.
The system works with several popular hydraulic bump stop brands and is compatible with our outboard rear shock mount.

Hydraulic bump stops are not included unless selected separately.
Installation Requirements
A U-bolt flip kit is required for the Tacoma application.
Installation requires welding to the frame as well as minor grinding or cutting of the factory bump stop perches. The factory bump stop perch is removed during installation.
For tire and wheel clearance, the vehicle requires approximately 1.5″ wheel spacers or wheels with -15mm or greater negative offset.
Bump Stop Compatibility
Mount options are available for King, Fox, Locked, ADS, Radflo, and Trail Gear hydraulic bump stops.
King 2″ x 2″ short-body hydraulic bump stops can also be added to the kit.
