Stronger Lower Control Arms Without Going Long Travel

Not every 4Runner build needs the additional width of a long-travel suspension system. We designed our 4th & 5th Gen 4Runner Lower Control Arms for owners who want the strength, ground clearance, and lower uniball benefits of a fully fabricated control arm while maintaining factory suspension width.

Designed for 2003–2009 4th Gen and 2010–2024 5th Gen Toyota 4Runners, these stock length lower control arms are fabricated from CNC laser-cut and bent 3/16″ steel with an internally reinforced boxed construction.

Improved Clearance and Suspension Geometry

The lower joint position is moved 1″ forward compared to stock. This provides additional tire clearance while adding approximately 2–3 degrees of caster, making these arms well suited for 4Runners running larger tires and upgraded suspension.

A 33″ tire is recommended, while 35″ tires can be used depending on wheel offset, ride height, and additional trimming.

Instead of retaining the factory lower ball joint, each arm includes our 1″ Lower Uniball Conversion with FK 1″ uniballs and 17-4 stainless steel misalignment spacers.

Integrated hydraulic bump-stop strike pads are built directly into the arms for vehicles running front hydraulic bump stops. Configurations are also available for 4Runners equipped with the factory KDSS sway bar system.

Whether you’re building a daily-driven 4Runner, trail vehicle, or stock-width off-road suspension system, these LCAs provide a stronger foundation without increasing track width.

Finished in satin black powder coat and made in the USA.

Lower Uniball Conv. to Lower Control Arm (3/4" Stainless Steel Bolt): 120 ft-lbs Anti-Seize all Surfaces.
Lower Uniball Conv. to Spindle 2x 16mm Bolts: 118 ft-lbs use Red Loctite.
Lower Control Arm Pivots (Cam bolts): 100 ft-lbs Crucial: These must be torqued with the suspension at ride height (truck on the ground) to prevent premature bushing failure.
Lower Shock Bolt to LCA: 60 ft-lbs Use Anti-Seize on threads.
KDSS Bracket to LCA 3x 7/16 Fine Thread Bolts: 40 ft-lbs Use Anti-Seize on threads.
KDSS Bracket to Sway Bar 2x 1/2" Fine Thread Bolts: 70 ft-lbs Use Anti-Seize on threads.

The Lower Uniball conversion needs to be orientated to where the Snap Ring (that holds the Uniball) is facing up towards the sky.
