Description
Better Geometry for Dana 35 TTB Suspension Travel
The factory radius arms on the Ford Ranger, Explorer, and Bronco II are relatively short, forcing the front suspension to travel through a tighter arc as the Dana 35 TTB suspension cycles.
When you’re increasing suspension travel, the radius arms need to allow the TTB beams to move through that additional travel without becoming a limiting factor.
That’s why we designed our Dana 35 Extended Radius Arms around both suspension geometry and strength. The longer radius arms allow the front wheels to travel through a larger arc, creating smoother suspension movement as the TTB beams cycle through rough terrain.
These radius arms are designed to complement our Cut & Turned Dana 35 TTB Beams and are used throughout our Dana 35 Mid-Travel and Long-Travel suspension systems.
Triangulated for Strength
Instead of simply running parallel tubes, the horizontal tubes are positioned on different planes to create a triangulated radius arm structure. This provides additional resistance to bending under hard off-road use.
Each radius arm is fabricated from 1-3/4″ x .120-wall DOM tubing and 1/4″ 1020 CR steel plate.
At the frame, massive 1-1/4″ FK heim joints connect the radius arms to fabricated 1/4″ steel pivot boxes using 17-4 stainless steel misalignment spacers and Grade 8 hardware.
The pivot boxes use an existing factory frame hole for proper placement and install without welding to the frame.
Depending on the suspension configuration, these radius arms support approximately 12″ of 4WD wheel travel with our Dana 35 Mid-Travel system and up to 19″ of usable wheel travel with our 4″ or 6″-over Long-Travel systems.
Built for Dana 35 TTB suspension that actually gets used.
