Don’t Let a Failed Shift Motor Leave You Without 4WD
The electric shift motor on a Ford BW1356 transfer case has a habit of failing at the worst possible time. When you’re miles from pavement and suddenly can’t shift your transfer case, a small electrical problem can quickly turn into a much bigger problem.
We designed our Ford BW1356 Transfer Case Rescue Plate as a simple trail-side solution that allows you to manually operate the transfer case after removing a failed electric shift motor.
Remove the electric shift motor, install the Rescue Plate, and use a standard 3/8″ drive ratchet to manually select 2WD, 4HI, or 4LO. Each position is clearly marked directly on the plate, making it easy to identify the correct transfer case position while you’re underneath the truck.
The Rescue Plate is laser cut from 1/8″ steel and zinc plated for protection against rust and corrosion. Three included thumb screws secure the plate in position after installation.
The entire system is compact enough to keep in your Bronco or F-150 with your trail tools, so it’s there when you actually need it.
If you have an electric-shift BW1356, this is one of those parts you hope you never need—but you’ll be glad you have it if the shift motor fails.
