1980–1996 Ford Bronco & F-150 17″ Wheel Big Brake Kit
Full Race Components. No Corners Cut. Race Proven
We didn’t design this kit to be an ordinary brake upgrade. We wanted to build the biggest, most capable brake package we could fit on the 1980–1996 Ford Bronco and F-150 using full race-level brake components with no expense spared.
Instead of building the kit around smaller street-performance components, we started with Wilwood Grand National GN6R 6-piston radial-mount calipers. These large forged-aluminum calipers are paired with massive 13-inch × 1.38-inch Wilwood GT 48 Spec-37 rotors to provide the heat capacity and braking performance needed for serious prerunner and race applications.
These aren’t just race-inspired parts. This is the same brake system we run on our own Solo Motorsports NORRA race truck, where we’ve put approximately 2,000 race miles on the package (2 seasons of off-road racing.)
The massive 1.38-inch-thick curved-vane rotors provide significantly more thermal mass than a typical brake upgrade. Wilwood’s Spec-37 rotor material is engineered for severe-duty applications where resistance to heat, distortion, cracking, and wear is critical.
We designed our own rotor, spindle, and radial caliper mounting components to bring the entire package together on the factory Ford platform.
The two-piece rotor system also simplifies future maintenance. When a rotor needs replacement, it unbolts from the Wilwood adapter rather than requiring the wheel studs to be pressed out like the factory rotor design.
This kit requires a minimum 17-inch wheel and is available for both 5-bolt and 6-bolt spindle configurations.

Easier Brake Service
The factory Ford rotor and hub design require the wheel studs to be pressed out when replacing the rotor. Our two-piece Wilwood rotor and hat system eliminates that extra step.
When the rotor eventually needs replacement, it simply unbolts from the rotor hat. There is no need to repeatedly press the wheel studs in and out of the hub, making future brake service easier while helping preserve the hub and wheel studs.

- Driver/Pass Modified Knuckles $400.Modifying the knuckles are easy enough for a DIY’er with a angle grinder and cut off wheel. Or a local fab shop can do the work very easily.
