Build a Full Interior Cage Without Starting From Scratch
Building a complete roll cage from raw tubing takes a significant amount of fabrication time. Every tube must be measured, bent, notched, fitted, and positioned correctly before welding can begin. Our 1980–1996 Ford Bronco Prerunner Roll Cage gives experienced fabricators a head start with a complete weld-it-yourself cage designed specifically around the full-size Bronco.
The main cage structure uses 1.75-inch DOM tubing, while 1.25-inch DOM tubing forms the corner gussets. We CNC bend and laser notch the tubes so the individual pieces fit together during assembly. In addition, the kit includes roof webbing and gussets for a complete interior cage structure.
To simplify positioning, the lower pontoons locate from existing factory frame holes. This provides a consistent starting point when positioning the cage inside the Bronco.
Installation requires significant fabrication work. The factory dash must be notched alongside the A-pillars, and the floor must be opened for the vertical tubes. After positioning the cage, the installer must properly fit, tack weld, finish weld, and complete the required plate work.
We estimate approximately 20–26 hours of installation time, depending on fabrication and welding experience. By comparison, building a similar cage completely from scratch can require substantially more fabrication time.
This is a weld-it-yourself fabrication kit intended for experienced welders and fabricators.
