Mid-Travel Suspension for the FJ Cruiser
The Solo Motorsports Mid-Travel Suspension Kit is designed for 2007–2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser owners who want more front suspension performance while maintaining factory-width suspension geometry. It combines our fabricated upper control arms with King 2.5″ extended-travel coilovers to improve wheel travel, ride quality, and off-road capability.
Lifting an FJ Cruiser changes the operating angle of the factory upper control arms and can limit suspension performance. Therefore, our tubular upper control arms feature built-in caster correction and replace the factory upper ball joint with an FK 1″ uniball. This provides additional articulation and strength for off-road use.
CNC-machined slug adapters press into the factory spindle and allow the 1″ uniball to work with the factory spindle configuration.
More Travel While Maintaining Factory Width
The included King 2.5″ coilovers provide adjustable ride height and approximately 1–3″ of front lift. Combined with our upper control arms, the system adds approximately 1″ of front suspension travel over the factory setup.
Because the suspension maintains factory track width, fiberglass fenders are not required. Additionally, the stock-width design makes this kit a great choice for FJ Cruisers that serve as daily drivers while still seeing regular trail and desert use.
For harder off-road driving, we recommend adding our Upper Control Arm Double-Shear Kit to reinforce the factory upper control arm mounting location.

Recommended Upgrades
For harder off-road use, we recommend the Solo Motorsports Upper Control Arm Double-Shear Kit. This upgrade reinforces the factory upper control arm mounting location and helps prevent the cross-shaft bolt from bending during aggressive driving.
Our Toyota alignment cam upgrade can also be added separately to provide a stronger and more secure alignment system for off-road use.
