Description

Introducing our new Outboard Shock Relocation Kit for 3rd Gen 4Runners!

The rear shock location on the 3rd Gen 4Runner is in an incredibly tight and hard to reach place. The 3G4R stock location also limits the size and type of shock that can be installed. This kit is designed to move the shocks to the outside of the frame and pushes suspension travel and performance to its limits!

About:

The Outboard Shock Relocation Kit moves the shock location to the outside of the frame within the wheel well which allows you to run longer, bigger, and higher quality shocks. Replacing the shocks becomes much easier as well. This kit is designed to work with most universal shocks meaning you can run your favorite brands without compromise! This kit also puts the shock in a more vertical position (as opposed to the factory angle) which greatly increases stability, shock performance, and longevity.

Unlike other kits on the market, Solo offers a unique fully boxed and plated design with locating wings for easy installation and added strength. Due to the boxed design the entire package is smaller which allows you to run a hydro bump kit without any modifications. This kit also has more weld surface than others which increases strength and lowers risks of cracks in high stress applications.

The lower shock mounts included in this kit are also boxed with a wing that wraps around the axle which adds weld surface, makes installation easier, and is overall stronger than other available options.

Solo also offers an add-on frame notch kit to help clear larger shocks at full suspension articulation.

Additional Info On Outboard Shock Relocation Kits:

Installing an outboard shock kit on your vehicle can also offer several advantages:

  1. Increased Stability: Outboard shocks can improve the stability of your vehicle, especially in situations where you’re carrying heavy loads. They help in reducing sway and body roll, making your vehicle feel more planted and controlled.
  2. Enhanced Off-Road Performance: If you frequently drive off-road or on rough terrain, outboard shocks can provide better articulation and dampening than factory style shocks. This can result in improved traction, reduced bounce, and smoother rides over uneven surfaces.
  3. Customization and Tuning: Outboard shock kits often allow for more customization in terms of damping adjustments and tuning options. This can be particularly beneficial if you’re looking to fine-tune your vehicle’s suspension for specific driving conditions or preferences.
  4. Durability and Longevity: Upgraded outboard shocks are generally designed to be more durable and capable of handling higher stress and abuse than stock shocks. This can lead to a longer lifespan and reduced maintenance requirements over time.

Product designed for off road user only. Installation should only be performed by a reputable shop with fabrication experience.
