Description
Solo Motorsports has taken the guesswork out of converting your 1980-1997 Ford Bronco or F-Series truck to a coilover front suspension. Replace the factory coil buckets and coil springs with our Coilover Conversion Engine Cage. The coilovers shocks deliver a smoother ride.
80% of the engine cage is welded in our fixture. The other 20% of welding required is done on the truck. This involves welding the frame plates to the frame and welding the lower shock mounts to the Dana 44 beams.
The engine cage is constructed of 1.75”x .120 DOM seamless tubing and 3/16″ steel plate. We designed this engine cage to pick up factory holes for easy placement prior to welding.
Each engine cage comes with a 3-bolt flanged, easily removable crossbar which can taken out anytime you need to work on your engine. The coilover engine cage uses a 2.5” King coilover shock as the primary suspension. Additional shock tabs are available to mount a 2.5” smooth-body or bypass shock behind the coilover shock for extra suspension control.
Combine this with our Dana 44 Cut & Turned beams and a pair of our 1.25” Heimed Extended Radius Arms, expect 15” of wheel travel with 35″ tires and no fiberglass fenders. Up to 19″ of travel with 4 1/2″ over beams and fiberglass fenders.
This is a partially “weld-it-yourself” kit. Be sure to cycle the suspension properly, and professionally welded.

The Coilover Conversion Engine Cage must be welded to the frame.
