Description
Replace a Worn or Damaged Bronco Tire Swing Striker
The factory spare tire carrier on a 1987–1996 Ford Bronco relies on the body-mounted striker to properly latch and hold the tire swing closed. After decades of use, the original striker bracket can become worn, damaged, or may already be missing from the vehicle.
Solo Motorsports designed our Ford Bronco Tire Swing Striker Bracket as a heavy-duty fabricated replacement for the original assembly.
The bracket is fabricated from 3/16″ steel plate, laser cut and CNC bent for a precise fit, then MIG welded and finished in a satin black powder coat for long-term protection.
Complete Striker Assembly
We designed the kit to replace more than just the fabricated bracket.
A stainless steel striker bushing and new striker bolt provide a durable contact point for the factory tire carrier latch and allow the carrier to open and close properly. The included rubber bump stop maintains pressure against the tire carrier when closed, helping control movement and reduce unwanted rattling.
New Grade 8.8 mounting hardware is also included so the aging factory mounting bolts can be replaced during installation.
Whether your original striker assembly is worn out, damaged, or completely missing, this kit provides the components needed to restore the body-side latch point for the factory Bronco swing-out spare tire carrier.
